I certainly feel for the ARRL DX contest participants on 160 Meters. I
thought that the QRN last weekend for the CQ 160 SSB contest was horrible,
and it was.
But last night was even more horrendous. It sounded like late July and
August here in SW New Mexico. The loud Carribean stations were barely
copiable between the static crashes. And even this morning one hour after
sunrise the static crashes were S 4-5 on the East and SE Beverages.
I got on for a few minutes to give out the Mult and had trouble making two
contacts. V26B was loud between crashes but was having difficulty hearing
the many stations calling him.
Let's hope that it is better tonight. 73 de Milt, N5IA
