I am in the process of installing an inverted "L" antenna.
The vertical portion of the antenna will be about 70' and
the rest will be the horizontal portion sized for a total
overall length of 1/4 wavelength.
Question:
Is it better to tune the antenna at the feed point or can it
be tuned in the shack just as well? If better at the feedpoint
why?
Question:
Does the direction of the horizontal part mattter? Or does
this horizontal portion provide some directional characteristics.
Question:
If using a tuner, either at the feedpoint or the shack, does the total
overall length of the "L" make any difference as long as it is at least
a 1/4 wavelength?
