If the commercial pre amps are to steep for your K6SE Pennant budget you can
build one that is available in kit form. MCM Electronics (1-800-543-4330) They
offer #80-1095 which uses surface mount components, provides 20db gain at 1 Mhz,
and 6db at 25Ghz! The cost is a paltry $21.95 and the power requirements are
12VDC at 16 ma. There may be a requirement for some band pass control depending
upon the location. I have not tested any yet but plan to do so in the future.
