I bought a helium baloon from UK www.helikites.com in January this year! =
I must say they do not worth money. When I was speaking with boss from =
the company he said yes afcourse you can put up about a 1kg of weight on =
the baloon it will easily stay up in the air. When I fill the balloon =
and test it for cqww 160 contest I saw the baloon can not even rise him =
self for about 40m (quater wave 160m vertical), If we put on a thin CU =
wire the baloon rised up for about 10-15m and no more
If you want to make a good 160m antenna you should buy 4 or 5 of the =
helikites baloons and make the stack out of them, but that is too much =
of money I believe.
If you are near salt water use INV L 20m horizontal 20m vertical, it =
should work just fine!
