Gentlemen,
This past Saturday, I put up a 160 meter inverted "L".
This was placed next to my 1/4 wave 80 meter vertical.
Both antennas are connected to a common feed point and use
the same radial field of 52 65 foot radials on the ground.
That is a single run of coax is feeding the inverted "L" and
80 meter vertical at the same time. The "L" is about 2 feet
from the 80 meter vertical goes up about 70 feet and the rest
of the "L" goes horizontally at about 70 feet to a total length
of 127 feet.
The "L" tuned up perfectly at 1.830(calculated) but the
80 vertical's resonant frequency (3.8mhz) jumped by 300khz and is
now resonant at 4.1 mhz. I understand why this has happened
and suspected it would happen. My question at this point is,
If I increase the length of the 80 meter vertical (calculated
about 5-7 more feet), will this interact with and change the
resonance of the "L"? Basically, will I get a seesaw effect
from one to the other until I find a happy medium here.
