Hi everyone,
I have some questions about the K9AY loop system and im hoping you folks
might be able to help.
I posted this question on the Yahoo-K9AYLOOP group but no replies :-(
Since the wind destroyed my small coax "shielded loop" which was on the
roof, Im purchasing a 2 loop system which was made by Frontier
Engineering just prior to them marketing them.
The unit is suppose to have the remote switch box, indoor control and all
wire. I guess it does not have a built in preamp and im not sure about
Vactrol or variable resistance terminator. I can find nothing on this
company's product. Any info on this product (adds in mags, literature
etc)would greatly be appreciated.

Anyway, Im going to have to install this in the corner of the yard.
That means the loops will not cross but will be perpenducliar to each
other and meet at the corners. This will be installed basically against
trees using the branches as the support and the wood 2' high wood
planters as the horizontal path back. They will be N-S & E-W
My questions are
A) Is there any problem corner feeding the pair of "triangle shaped"
antennas? I have read some have done it with no preceived impact and
others recommend against it. What about making them rectangular and side
feeding them?
 B) If no problem, (As corner fed delta loop) where should the
terminating resistor go, on the lower
horizontal run or the upward sloped wire, or does it matter? Since its
switchable, is this a problem?
C) Could the antennas be in the form of a "right triangle" (Vertical
sections straight up 20' from the control box in the corner, sloped down
then run back horiz?
D) If so, again, where should the termination resistor be located
E) Is it possible to mount the control box in the corner, Install the
loops in the "Normal" (isosceles) shape and run a length of 450 ladder
line from the control box to the bottom feed points of the loops?
If so, do I have to shorten the loop by the amount of additional
feedline?
F) I have a 40' shunt-fed tower working on 80 & 160. The tower will be
15-30' away from the loops at a 45deg angle to the loops . Is this going
to be a problem?

Thanks for the help
