Listening to the CQ WW 160 CW Contest from the midwestern US, there seemed to
be two distinct contests going on. One was a Worked-All-States USA QSO Party &
the other was a very well hidden WW DX Contest. While I do not wish to demean
either effort, just imagine if these two were separated.
The WAS QSO Party would be just that & held separately.
The DX Contest would give NO points for working one's OWN country! (It's not DX
by definition). Of course there would be great inequities in the DX Contest;
there always is. A Caribbean station would smoke most US stations, but hefty
multipliers could be used for separate DX entities worked to equalize things
out a bit.
Flame on!
