Osten I was using such a loop and I was not too satisfied with it.
Since 5 years I'm using K9AY antenna and its working very well 
in my case.I have very good soil here and maybe because of that
K9AY is often the same as 160m long Beverage in my QTH.
I recommend you to try this kind of antenna. You can look at :
