I realized this morning after coffee I made an error in my quick Spice
model of the 16:1 transformer. The phase shifts due to magnetizing inductance
are indeed smaller using a 10X factor than I quoted however the fact remains
that there are mostly uncontrollable phase shifts due to this as well as the
resistive loads. All around using transformers on small elements in a 4 square
or any other phased array certainly seems a bad idea to me.
