Subject: re:Quick question on radials
Ian, G3NRW, was asking about the most efficient use of wire for radials.
Ian, IF I remember correctly, the ARRL antenna book OR ON4UN's book on low
band antennas, has chart/graph on the most eff. use of wire for radials. If I
get time, I'll dig through the books and see if I can find the info for you.
Good luck with the project.

Ian and all......... ARRL Ant. Book/20th ed. Page 3-10. Table 1. In short:
If you have 1.6 wave lngths of wire, put down 16 radials, 0.1 wave lngth,
spaced 22 deg. Your sig will be aprox -3db down.
If you have 3 wave lngths of wire, use 24 radials, 0.125 long, spaced 15 deg.
sig loss -2 db.
covers 36, 60, 90, and 120 total radials.
Hope this helps.
