Hi everyone.

Improving the reception by grounding the outside of the coaxial line (with
or without a filter) could depend on the fact that the common mode signals
are feed to ground instead of reaching the radio.

Close to the radio there are a lot of other cables that probably could pick
up the coaxial common mode currents and lead the 'noise' into the radio.
There are keying lines, computer connections, audio lines etc.

This leads us to another disscussion about how well shieled the modern day
ham radio equipmen is. Are there any good HF filtering for those other
lines?

Something to consider for the Multi-Multi guys.

Is this considered in the the different rig test procedures? Maybe it should
be.
