Subject: Topband: 3-el in line array/broadside
I am in the process of setting up three verticals spaced ¼ wave in line
and
plan to feed with equal phase for broadside radiation. Supposedly the
broadside lobe drops another 10 degrees compared to a 2 el broadside with
½
wave spacing and the gain should increase by appr. 1 db. Anybody out there
with experience or reliable modelling capabilities ?
Hi Wolf,
That appears to be the case for gain but not the lobe azimuth.
2-el broadside gain 5.62dBi, beamwidth 66 deg
3-el broadside gain 4.47dBi, beamwidth 86 deg
The model indicates the vertical lobe azimuth is 22 degrees in both cases,
assuming Mininec ground flat marshy.
