Hi Ken,
Not quite sure to which arrangement you refer, but back in my days as
ZS5K, I built a single wire 2-way Bev, using 2 lengths of coax. I did
bias them though, and used the bias to feed a relay at each end, which
switched between termination or feed.
Not quite the same as you mean I don't think, but it is quite simple,
and obviates the need for 2 wires.
