Just to note that Edmund Laport (once the Chief Engineer of RCA
International) did not support the use of ground screens in his textbook
RADIO ANTENNA ENGINEERING (page 121), citing eddy current losses around the
closed-loop circuits of such ground screens.
More common for AM broadcast stations these days where the E-field near the tower base is quite high is to intersperse ~50-foot buried radials between their normal 120 x 1/4-wave buried radials. R. Fry _______________________________________________ UR RST IS ... ... ..9 QSB QSB - hw? BK |
