I'm looking at 2-in x 2-in galvanized welded wire mesh as a ground
screen alternative. Because it's a lot less dense (and has a lot less
steel) than 1/2-in square hardware cloth, it's a lot less expensive.
Typically under $40 for 50 ft x 4 ft.
Severns guidelines for mesh density suggests that this is more than adequate. Four rolls of that arrayed radially would be an awfully good radial system.
