Depends on the noise at your location, before I removed the 300 ft towershere I matched one for 160 and ran low power in the Stew Perry a few years ago, ended up number 1 world wide if memory is correct, and receive was only the xmt antenna at that time. If the locations noise is low you will hear everything thats on the band. I'm in a quiet location and my 300ft tower wasn't noticeably terrible. It was about like any other omni vertical.
