Study the ARRL Antenna Book and the ON4UN book. Both available from 
ARRL, and you can probably find them used elsewhere. Especially for the 
ARRL Antenna Book, make sure you get the CD that comes with it.
Don't own these books?  Every active ham should, especially if you're 
working 160M.
