My apologies for sounding like a lid last night. Almost continuous static
crashes made rx almost impossible with the exception of a couple of the big
guns and W6/W7. Short skip was definitely in play. 85% of the stations I
worked were W6/W7.

It was conditions and it was SSB! I could not hear PJ4G last night. The
only DX that was "loud" was ZF2.

I worked Bill (KH7XS) on Friday night. He didn't sound like a lid
but his signal strength was unimpressive for KH6 to W6. We know
the antenna he is using has substantial loss so maybe that explains
it.
FWIW, I easily worked PJ4G and ZF2AF (or whatever his suffix was)
on Friday night. Also worked VY2ZM on Friday running 40 watts!
(I forgot to switch on the amplifier :-)
I waited until after EU sunrise so Jeff would be listening
for the West Coast. Good ears, Jeff. Despite this, I only
worked 2 East Coast stations in several hours of CQ'ing.
