I am saddened to learn of the recent passing of my friend, George Taft,
W8UVZ. George was a top DXer and a champion of 160 meter DXing. He along
with W0CD (SK) and K8GG were the designers and suppliers of the famous
Battle Creek Special antenna that was used successfully on so many
dxpeditions. George kindly took me under his wing when I first got on 160
and encouraged me when the going was tough. He was a fine gentleman who
will be missed by many.
