I wasn't aware that there was any material that would deter
squirrels, although maybe the rats stuff will work.
If you get no better suggestions, try a plastic owl (in WalMart's
garden dept.) They look pretty lifelike, and if mounted correctly will
move a little bit in the wind so that they appear to be alive. They are
a proven pigeon deterrent, and also are supposed to work well for keeping
birds off berry bushes, etc. The downside to using one is that you may
scare all the songbirds away, which will cause an increase in yard insects.
