I don't think grounding a delta loop at the corner opposite the feed
will do much in the way of improvement. I modelled what you suggest,
and found that the change just skews the pattern a bit.
A better idea is to add a second loop and phase them. Simple, cheap,
2 dB extra gain, 15 dB front to back.
