Had a new Rohn HDBX-48 up for five years in southern illinois. Loaded
with four el (Hornet) tribander , Cushcraft H stack eleven el 2 meter
beams, G-6 on top with welve foot mast pipe. Rohn standards on concrete
and everything else stock and brand new. Watched it go thru tornado winds
(down bursts , not twister) and did ok (shuddered a lot, but no damage).
Now have same tower here in Fla, with same T2X on standard rotor shelf at
46 foot point, but with two sections of STRAIGHT BX-3s -- making tower top
out at 64 feet. This is the one my insurance agent photo-ed. Again, I
say, load it up, insure it big time, and forget it. (don't do this on a
city lot!) Otherwise, enjoy ur hobby. de K4VUD
