Not much difference. The control box for the older 44 was a square enclosure
with a slide switch lopcated below the meter. The newer 45 has the same
control box as the Ham IV.  It even has the brake release button on it but
they did not have a brake in them and were for small antenna loads like TV
and small VHF arrays.
