I don't think that the I*T product of 6, 6.6 or 10M wire rope is small
enough to allow a 50% probability lightning stroke to cause problems with
their mechanical strength.

Grounded guys scares me to death. Remember the recent post about "four
feet of an antenna disappearing" in a lightning strike ??
Picture four feet of one of your top (grounded) guys disappearing during
the windy conditions which can accompany a thunderstorm...
