Chuck Dietz mentioned his woes with "odd size" guy grips and local purchase
of new grips. Please be aware that Rohn recommends only the "Big Grip" series
of guy grips for tower installation. The regular grips sold by most supply
houses are for utilty pole guying applications and much shorter then the Big
Grips. There are even some brands of utility type grips with only three
strands of steel instead of the four in a Big Grip.

Yes, the Big Grips do cost a little more than the cheapies but they are are
safer and well worth the expense. And yes, Texas Towers is a Preformed
Products distributor, stocking 3/16, 1/4 and 5/16 inch Big Grips. Please call
1 800 272 3467 to order and if you want to buy in quantity, please ask for
me, K5GW, iand we will negotiate a quantity discount with you.

Thanks & 73 de Gerald Williamson, K5GW, Owner/General Manager, Texas Towers
