K1VR: I find a piece of pipe which will fit through the thimble by
entering sideways. Put one end of pipe in vise with thimble legs POINTING
UP. Hold other end of pipe. Now, using a big mallet, tap thimble DOWN so
that legs spread to get around the pipe.
