Hello Jay,
I had this problem with a G-800 rotator this year.
Tried without success to fix it from the shack end.
Tracking the cable to the tower I found a complete
break in the cable caused by excessive movement
in the wind. No time before the contest, so used a
tag strip to rejoin the wires, and sealed with
Scotch 33- problem solved.
