Seems to me that this issue ought to make it into print in one of our
journals. I wonder how many fellow hams climb alone on a regular basis
without giving much thought to it, and without knowing what precautions
they CAN take--handitalki, cell phone--if they must climb alone. 

Looking out the window of my office this morning at the wintery scene out
there reminds me of the area ham who, not too long ago, took a quick run up
his tower--alone--about this time of the year without his belt and who will
never climb anything ever again, not even out of bed. He evidently slipped
on one of the icy rungs or lost his grip. 70 feet later..., well it's a
nobrainer to figure that out.
