Hi I have a 4 el vertical phased array, 1/4 wave high / spaced, on 80. I'd
like to replace the fold over 65 ft alum verticals with towers due to ice
load, etc. haven't bught tower for years. What would you suggest for a light
weight tower at a decent price and where to get it? I probably can do 50 foot
towers and run the rest of the height using HD aluminim tubing which would
also be readily height adjustable. Also curious what folks recommend for an
insulated base ( In past I have used a base plate with sched 40 or possibly
heavier, about 2 ft in length so I didn't have to shovel snow unless more than
two feet). My switching network looks for about 35 ohms at the vertical
base. Thanks for the thoughts, Steve Davis, K1PEK
