Well, a CSD is a Constand Speed Drive, usually attached to the front of
the generators for a
jet engine. Air Research pretty much has a monolopy on the things.

The turbine is driven by extremely high pressure, extremely high
temperature, "bleed" air usually just before the "burner" turbines.

Purpose of course is to keep the generator output constant. Internal
lubricants are extreme
hazzard. Thing is immune to just about anything except low oil pressure.
( meaning the lubricant which flows freely )

Now all you need is a jet engine.
