PolyPhaser is now totally ham unfriendly. The folks with a thorough
grounding (no pun intended) in radio communications have almost all
left, usually not of their own accord. The new owners are just interested
in cellular and PCS and boxes in - boxes out.

If you want PolyPhasers, call AES; however, don't expect much technical
assistance.

The main advantage to PolyPhasers over their competition (dc-blocking)
is no longer protected
by patent although Poly's new products have some new technology which still
makes
them the best insofar as let-through is concerned. However, this technology
hasn't
filtered itself into products below about 800 MHz.

Maybe MFJ and Alpha-Delta may want to produce a dc-blocked version of their
current offerings. Lynics seems interested in the ham market, but I don't know
if
their devices are dc-blocked.

Good luck, Steve.

PS I am now in the Seattle area and back in the cable television industry.

We (finally) break ground on a new, convenant free, QTH in about 3 weeks. I
have called and spoken with sales people at Polyphaser twice now to request
info and a current catalogue so I can install things from the (sub)ground up.
I'm now over a month out from the last call, and still no response. Since
AA0CY left the company, I do not see any "ham presence" on the internet.

Question: What other companies have you had good response from, and are they
as "reputable" as Polyphaser. There have to be other players. Any assistance
is greatly appreciated.

73,
Steve
