I can hear the same thing on my KT-34XA. It is static electricity
jumping from the boom to the elements across the insulators. It seems
to be most common just after a lightning storm has passed by.
I think Force 12 also has at least some of the elements insulated
from the boom, so that may be the source of what you are hearing.
