Amen. Tape those caps! I just rebuilt a TH3 and ordered all new end
caps. But, watch out; in my opinion, the nes caps are a tad longer than
the old ones. Maybe I'm wrong. But the manual shows inter-trap distances
in terms of space between cap ends. so, if the new ones are longer, the
traps will not be in the same place as they were.
So, before you loosen any clamps, cut the old caps off with a knofe.
Measure carefully the spacing between the trap cans, and write it all down.
when reassembling later, leave the caps floating loose until you restore
the traps to their original dimensions. The push the caps on REAL tight
(there's a lip in there), and tape them with 33.
