let's not dismiss the possibility of birds flying into towers. they
are "bird-brains" after all. and the subject was brought up by
someone who quoted actual DATA!
that said, let's gather some data about bird impact deaths. several
have said (let me add myself to the list) that they have had ZERO
known bird impacts to their towers, and birds tend to LIKE to
perch on the antennas.
now, let's consider how many birds are killed or injured by flying
into power lines, and especially windows! that should put our towers
and antennas way down on the list. it would be neat to have a list
like this, for the inevitable hearings. we can remove our towers
after the major avian hazards (power lines and windows) have all
been taken down...
