I asked the reflector how the RTS Ring System holds up under moderate icing
conditions. Thanks to W5KFT, K5AND and N5CQ for prompt and informative
replies on their direct experiences as owners.

Got rave notices on the system in general and its strength from everybody.
One encounters periodic icing and confirmed quick recovery. No problems or
concerns reported by anyone.

K7LXC also weighed in with a comment from his tower practice and experience
that one can use a short section of fixed 55G and mount the Ring System
between that and the rotating portion. That was a particularly helpful
suggestion for here, as I was imagining the winter and early spring
ground-level conditions as a challenge to keeping the system open and
going.

Also got a plaudit for its proprietor, K5IU, who is said to be very
responsive and helpful.

Jim, VE1JF
