Normally 3/8 X 6 turnbuckles are used with 3/16EHS guys. The confusion about
strength comes about because guy wire is rated for breaking strength and
forged fittings are rated for working load with a big safety factor built in.
1/2 X12 or 1/2 X 9 turnbuckles are used with 1/4EHS guys. 5/8 X 12
turnbuckles are used with 5/16EHS guys.

The Rohn foldover towers are typically used with GAS604 screw anchors. These
anchors are 5/8 inch diameter and the 1/2 X 12 or 1/2 X 9 eye/jaw turnbuckles
will fit directly onto these anchors with no extra hardware needed. For this
reason, 25G foldover installations will typically use 3/16EHS guys but a
larger than needed 1/2 X 12EJ turnbuckle.

It certainly does no harm to oversize the turnbuckles except to extract a few
extra $$$ from your wallet!
