I've frequently seen it written that loops are "quieter" receiving antennas
than dipoles.  The usual explanation is because the loop is a
"closed-circuit antenna".  I've always been a little suspicious of this and,
in fact, have never noticed any real difference is quietness.  Has anybody
else?
