If it doesn't open, get a bigger hammer.
If it used pvc type glue to seal the parts there is almost no way to
'unglue' it.
Probably simplest to saw the tube apart and then place fixed terminal and
insides into pvc parts you can obtain at Home Depot.
I suggest you mount a threaded 'plug' into the rebuilt one. Makes it easier
to take it apart in the future.
They saw and drill easily.
But once they are glued they don't come apart.
