Based on these and other anecdotes, it may be that
PolyPhaser has amended their policies. I do know that
there were ham unfriendly policies instituted prior to my
departure in Dec 1997. Enuff said.

Nevertheless, I suggest contacting Ron Block for orders
and information. He used to give a ham discount, but I
don't know if he still does. Please let me know.

According to official legend, PolyPhaser was started by Roger Block
back in 1979 when he came home (in central Fla) from a vacation
and found his ham station had been destroyed or heavily damaged
by lightning. Initially it operated from his garage there. In the early
80's it moved to the Carson Valley of Nevada and has steadily grown
in size. In 97 it was sold to Smith Industries a UK-based conglomerate
which owns Times Microwave (coaxial cable competitior to Andrews) and
recently acquired Transtector, another surge suppression company.

I forgot to add that N2LA - Larry reported to me good service from them just
a few weeks ago - like me, he was putting in a bulkhead with lots of strap
and other goodies so it was not a small order...
