It wasn't clear to me until the second or third reading of this
message, Steve, but

THE SPLIT SECTION MUST BE REPLACED.

Right?

The splint is just a TEMPORARY measure; not a permanent fix.

Right?

I was almost ready to ask where on the tower one would place a
splinted section.
