Hi everyone --

   No I was NOT certain of my statement -- which is why I said "I am not an
engineer".  But it served the purpose: it got data out from more qualified
people!

   So, I am only slightly embarrassed...

Are you CERTAIN of your statement?  That means that a 60' pole would
be 20' in the ground...!!  And that only 40' would be usable.

Locally, the common installation dictates 10% + 1' in the ground...
So, for a 60' pole, 7' would by buried, yielding 53 usable feet of pole.
