        NOAH's experience with his 40M 4-square using 1/2 wave
dipoles gots me thinking about doing the same thing for 80M from the
180' tower I shunt feed for 160...but I want to totally decouple
the 80M wires and feedlines from my 160 vertical so as not to degrade
its performance on 160.

I plan to use baluns at all dipole feed points but wonder
if I should not ALSO put ferrite sleeve baluns at the point the 80M
4-square feedlines come to the tower. I know about K9RJ's decoupling
trap in Fig 9-91 of ON4UN's book but am thinking I could instead slide
about 24" of ferrites over each feedline at the point they enter the
Comtek box. Has anyone had any realworld experience with this
specific case? Please reply direct and I'll summarize.

                                                73, Bill W4ZV

P.S. The simple test to know if I've been successful will be to note
whether the tower impedance changes on 160, but I would prefer to hear
about similar experiences before going to a lot of work and maybe
reinventing the wheel.
