When I put my Rohn 25 85 footer up, I put a 10 foot section in a 5 foot
hole and put another 10 foot section on top of that so I had 15 feet above
the ground before concrete. That gave me a good long 20 foot length to make
straight before the concrete, using temporary guys - besides having the
first 10 feet from the bottom of the hole absolutely Rohn straight without
joints. The tower is no better than the foundation. I've left two five
foot "towers" in previous locations for the new owners to use as outdoor
patio furniture.
