I have to agree as I'm putting up a HDX-555 and I $10,000 spent and there
not even an Antenna brought yet. I like to meet the fellow who said talk is

Mike, those who have not put up one of these would likely not believe the
true costs involved if they were stated. In my case, I'm almost ready for a
boom truck to finish putting up only 80' of 45G. If you had told me before I
started I'd have in this project what I actually do at this point, I
wouldn't have believed you either. :-) Tower and accessory purchase,
assembly, and erection is one of the last true frontiers of gross cost
underestimating! Of course, in my case every last bolt and nut is new stock,
including rotator and mast and all cabling, plus I used Phillystran guys. I
am doing all of the labor myself, though, with the exception of the boom
truck operator's cost. To go to 150' of 55G and have a contracted crew do it
all - dang, that thought boggles my mind. Right off the top of my head, I'd
guess at least $10K. It would be interesting to hear the various answers to
your question.
