With an apex of only 21 ft, most of the radiation is
straight up or at very high angles which makes
it appear to be omnidirectional. That basically
holds true up to 1/4 WL high which is 70 ft on 80M.
To see much directivity with a dipole or inverted
vee on 80M, the apex needs to be 100 ft or more.

I know a few people who have worked DXCC on 80M
with very low inverted vee's (35 ft or less). That
doesn't make it a good DX antenna. In this case,
higher IS better. N4KG
