Hello,

I'm considering using either the 3-element or 5-element Cushcraft dual-band
yagis (A27010S or A2706S) for working the so-called "easy" satellites, AO-27,
UO-14, FO-29, etc.

As supplied by Cushcraft, the 2m and 70cm beams are attached "side-by-side" and
fed simultaneously through a T.

I sent an email to Cushcraft tech support and asked if it would be possible to
eliminate the T and feed the two antennas separately for satellite work (mode
J, 2m transmit & 70cm receive).

Here is their reply:

"It may not work ,but you can try and see..."

Has anyone out there tried using these antennas in such a fashion? If you
haven't tried it, perhaps you have an opinion on why it would-or-would not work.

I know the Arrow Antenna and other dual-band beams I've seen have crossed
elements. Is that what is necessary to avoid interaction between the two beams?

Thanks, John Pfeifer - KL0WN - Kodiak, Alaska
