It was a strange year. Antenna/DX/Contest forums
were interesting. Hooking up with old friends was the
high point.
The contest dinner, though packed, was no indication of attendance.
For the first time in 15-20 years, one could walk through
the main arena without sliding sideways. The DARA
committee wouldn't say what attendance was..it was still
being 'revised'.
Hertz and National reported 35% reduced bookings. Airport
vendors say trade is WAY off. Hotels were soliciting
bookings for next year!
Prices: ft1000mpField @ 1700, ic756proII @ 2400.
The Optibeam, from DL, was impressively modelled, and
extremely well designed, mechanically.
