[TowerTalk] question on cushcraft a-3

Has anybody on the group ever taken just the driven element off of the a-3
and used it as a rotary dipole? I know dumb question but just wondering if
using the element alone will result in a Z greater than 50 ohms. I could try
it but before going through the effort just wondering if anyone else has
covered this before
