Cliff:

     The positioning belt I have is from the Buckingham arborist catalog.
It's several layers of rubber-impregnated nylon with safety snap hooks at
either end and a friction buckle in the middle.  You adjust the length of
the belt by sliding the material through this buckle.

     You can also check out Klein Tools and Bashlin for similar belts.  Just
make sure the snap hooks have a safety release.  That way you are less
likely to roll out of your positioning belt.  (That's when your motion on
the tower squeezes the non-safety release snap against the tower, opening it
and down you go.)  To release the snap on my Buckingham belt I need to
squeeze the safety release first, which is on the opposite side of the
buckle from the main jaw on the snap.
