I just used a short piece (about 5") of #12 wire. Wrapped a few turns of the
radial around the center of the piece of wire. Then bent the wire into a U
and pushed it into the ground. After a few months I can't find the wire.

Subject: RE: [TowerTalk] RADIAL SYSTEM ideas
my neighbor ( 1 door removed) & I are both putting up verticals !
mine will be about 30 feet from my TOWER...
trying to find a reliable , inexpensive way to stake the ends of the
radials...
someone suggested gutter nails, but i only find them in a 5 pak for 6$ !!
maybe plastic , 5" - 7" , that would stay put and not want to rise into my
lawnmower next spring ????? who has done this ???
off reflector would be fine ny9h@arrl.net..
tnx
bill
